The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Primaries that was slated for Saturday, 20th June 2020 went down peacefully despite the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Interestingly, two NPP aspirants who contested for the seat of the Tafo Pankrono Constituency of the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region was reported to have collapsed after the awful results of elections were announced on that same day.
Information gathered indicates that CEO of Trinity Hospital, Mr Emmanuel Obeng, became unconscious and was quickly sent to the Tafo Government Hospital for a prompt emergency care unit.
Despite giving out cash and televisions set to aspirants, Mr Emmanuel Obeng who was part of the six (6) aspirants came 4th as he had 44 of the overall votes cast on that day.
Mr Emmanuel Obeng prior to the elections was accused of giving out GHc2,000 and a 32-inch television sets to the delegates to motivate them to vote for him in the upcoming primaries.
Speaking after his recovery this morning on the Morning show on Ash FM, Mr Obeng has warned delegates who came for the money and television sets to bring back the television sets since they know very well that they refused to vote for him after receiving his items and cash.
“Delegates promised to vote for me after receiving the items and money, and I am warning them never to go away with the money and television set because I will be counting on them to bring if back” – he said.
