No Government Has Decentralized The Cconomy More Than Akufo-Addo’s Government – Palgrave

Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has lauded the Akufo-Addo-led government, saying it has expanded the economy to reach all corners of the country.

He said no government has decentralised the economy more than the current government.

Speaking on Onua FM‘s Pae Mu Ka on Tuesday, August 15, Dr Boakye-Danquah said the flagship ‘One District-One Factory’ Policy is enough evidence of how the economy has been decentralised.

He said previously Greater Accra Region was said to be the major tax contributor of over 90 percent to the country’s economy.

But now, he insists, all the other regions are contributing owing to the good policies of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“President Nana Akufo-Addo is ensuring that Ghana develops,” he maintained.

“The taxes introduced are to make sure every responsible Ghanaian contributes for progress in the country.

“If that is not done, there will no progress in the country.”

He also underscored the declaration by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta that the government has “turned the corner” as regards the economy.

During the mid-year budget review presentation in Parliament on Monday, July 31, Mr Ofori-Atta assured that the economy is bouncing back and recovering steadily.

“This ‘turning the corner’ is underpinned by the investments and sacrifices we have
collectively made during this difficult period since March 2020,” he told Parliament.

For Dr Boakye-Danquah, government has ensured that the sacrifices made during the Covid-19 period have paid off.
