Nigeria’s Male National team to Travel by Sea to Benin due to Unavailable flights and Poor road network

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will Travel to Benin by sea Ahead of their African Cup of Nation qualifiers match.

The Two west African giants will lock horns in a Group L qualifying encounter in the Benin’s largest city Cotonou come Saturday 27th March.

However there is a confirmation that due to Unavailable flights from Nigeria to Cotonou, the entire squad and it’s management will reach their opponent’s city by sea.

The same source also indicates suggestions were made by the federation to travel by road but the players opted against it citing poor roads as their reason.

“For the first match in Benin (Republic), we are playing in the city of Cotonou. We will stay in Lagos ahead of the match. But because the road is not good between Lagos and Cotonou, we will travel to the match on a boat because the crossing only lasts two hours, instead of many hours on poor roads.” Their coach said
