Near Stampede at NPP Office in Koforidua over Loan

There was a near stampede at the New Juaben South office of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Koforidua when dozens of traders trooped to the party office to collect the “MP’s loan” application form.

The situation became chaotic as the traders jolt each other to get access to Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Michael Okyere Baafi’s financial assistance for small-scale enterprises.

It was observed that there was a total breach of Covid-19 preventive protocols as many of the traders were either not wearing nose masks or not properly wearing the masks.

Social distancing protocol was disregarded as the applicants threw caution to the wind in search of financial help.

The Ghana Health Service on Sunday, July 3, 2021, confirmed that Ghana has recorded cases of the contagious Delta variant of coronavirus.

It also announced that Ghana’s active cases stood at 1,619 with over 796 deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020. These cases are seeing a marginal spike in July with 10 cases recorded so far.
