Dr Lydia Dsane-Selby who’s the CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Graphic online reports that Her test results came on Sunday, June 14.
According to her, she started experiencing tiredness, body pains and headaches and after contacting a colleague at the Noguchi Medical Research Institute, “a team came to the house and tested and I tested positive.”
“I live with my mother. Luckily, she tested negative and so did the house help. So I immediately self-quarantined,” she told Accra-based radio station, Asaase Radio
“I’m fine. If feels like a bad bout of malaria. I just felt tired, quite a lot of body pains, muscle ache, headaches at the beginning but not anymore,” she said.
Dr Dsane-Selby said she has contacted all those she came into contact with over the last few days “and they’ve been for testing, and as far as I’m aware, they’re negative.”
She is the second high profile Ghanaian official to have tested positive for the disease after the Minister of Health, Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) where he was receiving treatment for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
