Founding Member of the Ghana Clergy Association and the General Overseer of Elim Glorious Church Rev. Dr. James Mensah, has taken a swipe at the ruling government saying the country is heading to a point of serious crisis.
He said the management of the economy has been abysmal and Ghanaians are having a hard time surviving.
According to the man of God President Akufo-Addo has failed Ghanaians, failed to deliver on the economic transformation he promised citizens.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said without mincing words that the current administration has worsen the plight of Ghanaians despite promising ‘heaven on earth.
He said churches are on the verge of collapsing because church members have stopped coming to church.
He disclosed that church members when contacted stated that they can no longer come to church because of the transportation cost.
He said members say they would rather prefer staying at home and come to church when they get money.
He explained the situation was worrying and terrible and the only way is for the appointees of the government to speak the truth and stop lying to Ghanaians.
According to him, the best way to assess the economy is to examine the people who come to church and when they start complaining, then you should know that there is something wrong.
He added that Ghanaians had a lot of hope in the President but he has failed woefully but quickly added that things could change if the ruling government put in measures to address the economic hardship in the country.
Rev. Dr. James Mensah advised the NPP to forget about breaking the 8 if they fail to do better.
He said Ghanaians will vote against the NPP if they are unable to change the current situation.
He said the church has a key role to play in ensuring that our leaders discharge their duties in a manner that will enhance lives and give hope and when they fail, men of God should call our leaders out.
He noted that men of God should be bold and speak out and stop being hypocrites.
He said just like former President John Mahama was criticized, the current government must be criticized to do better.
