Mobile Telecommunication Network [MTN] have suspended their majority of agents doing illegal cash out transactions when performing.
This came after No ID No money policy made by MTN which started 1st April, 2021.
The statement made by MTN noted that, some agents using their own ID, someone else ID or creating their own numbers to be ID card for customers; The total number of affected Agents are 7,819.

Dear Agents, kindly be informed that the accounts of some Mobile money agents are suspended for a month due to the flouting of ID for Cash out Directive.
The affected agents performed cash out transactions with wrong/suspicious IDs on behalf of the customers for a cash out transaction
Their wallets are Blocked for ONE month without any activity. After the ONE month period the affected agents would be made to sign a bond of good behavior for wallet to be unblocked

Y’ello Valued MoMo Agent, you have been found to have used wrong or suspicious IDs for Cash out for customers. As a result , your MoMo wallet is suspended for one month. Thank you.

We have suspended majority of agents doing illegal cash out transactions
1. Using their own ID card for cash out transactions for customers.
2. Using someone else ID card for other customers.
3. Creating their own numbers to be ID card for customers.
All these are fraud and we are not tolerating such agents.
