Movie Producers Keep Ignoring Me Because Of My Shape – Roselyn Ngissah

Ghanaian actress, Roselyn Ngissah said she had been overlooked by Hollywood due of her appearance.

Despite the disdain, the talented actress stated she had to faith in herself, which led to multiple movie jobs.

Producers turned her down since she wasn’t sexy enough to play them, so a skinny person was cast instead. She added, “I believe I would have done better than the skinny person.”

The actress was speaking at the “Woman, Be Unstoppable; Break the Bias” Access Bank Pan African Conference.

The Accra event aims to promote a society free of gender prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination, as well as a world that is welcoming to all.

Roselyn Ngissah claims she was informed she couldn’t obtain a job because she was too fat by many local film makers.

“I never gave up,” she continued, “but I did have to update and refine my art.”

Producers who had previously rejected her were prompted by her breakthrough in the film ‘4play.’

Instead of worrying about what others thought, the actress counseled women to accept their appearance and focus on their jobs.
