Mobile Money vendor robbed off over GHc200,000 by armed men, left one dead

A Mobile money vendor at Deema in the Ahafo Tano district has been attacked and robbed off GHC 200,000 on Friday night.

An eyewitness speaking on Kessben’s FM breaking News programme with Ali Baba said the attack by the armed men resulted in one person dying.

The deceased has been identified as a teacher of the Deema Senior high school. The late teacher was reported to be present around the Vendor’s shop to withdraw money when the incident happened.

A female teacher who was also around to withdraw money sustained level injuries after the operation by the robbers. “The incident happened between the hours of 7:30pm to 8pm at Deema in the Ahafo Tano district. One person has died as a result of the attack, he was a teacher who’s known as teacher Kwame. He’s a teacher at the Deema Senior high school.

He came to withdraw money as it was a weekend but unfortunately met this untimely death when the robbers opened fire. A female teacher she came with who was around also sustained some injuries and has been admitted at the hospital since.

According to the Mobile money vendor, the money the robbers took away was 2 billion old Ghana cedis.” The eyewitness said.
