Information trickling from Watenase Aburasu at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region is nothing pleasant to the ears.The indwellers have been thrown into a state of shock and mourning as a young and handsome guy has been shot by armed robbers last night.
According to an eyewitness Kwaku Dede, the victim is identified as Adjei in his early 28, married with 3 kids and a popular mobile money vendor in the area. Yesterday at 19:40GMT 3 men donned in Police uniform came to his container, one entered and pretended he was withdrawing money while the 2 were standing right in front of the shop. Some residents saw them harassing the guy in the container, but couldn’t understand why the alleged Officers were mishandling him. They decided to approach the container to find out what the problem was, all of a sudden they heard a gun shot inside. Come and see everyone running to secure their lives. It’s was at that juncture they realized, the men weren’t Police Officers but rather armed robbers.
The next thing they could witnessed was series of warning shot which last for close to 6 minutes. The spooky warning shot paved way for them escaped with unspecified amount, recharged cards, phones and other valuable items.
Few minutes later the Ejisu Police arrived the scene and found the lifeless body of Adjei. They tried what they could to have tracked the robbers but their efforts was fruitless. As it stands now nobody has been arrested.
Some of the burghers are of the view that, this might be a contract killing because there are a lot of the vendors around the area why he alone and the master plan used.
The Police have conveyed the lifeless body to the morgue at Okomfo Anokye Teaching hospital. While Investigation is ongoing and have pleaded with the residents never to hesitate with information if any.
