Many people think I have personal hatred for Sarkodie but honestly I don’t, i just may dislike an aspect of him which is normal of every human being. I must admit I admire Obidi for promoting his mother tongue, the Akan language in most of his songs, though there has been needless calls for him to switch to English, I believe those calls are totally misplaced.

Anytime he features or he’s featured by acts of other countries he always makes good use of our local language in his flows, right from Ace Hood, to RunTown, to to whoever, Obidi has held our native language in high esteem and I can confidently say for a fact should he get the opportunity to even feature JayZ or Donald Trump he’ll still make use of the Akan language.

I’ve listened to a couple of songs by Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and have realized they’ll try to promote their native language (Ga & Ewe) in their songs and I’ll encourage them to make use of their native language during international featurings just to promote our language.

Let’s use music as a tool to promote our local languages, our language is our power, let’s not feel inferior when making good use of it.

Language is Key. he added
