During a fight over 18 cedis in Bibiani Old Town in the Western North Region, a 28-year-old man had his lower lip chewed off.
Kofi Anelka, the suspect, was allegedly assaulted by his friend Asare Bediako at a local drinking salon.
Mr Bediako bought two bottles of local gin [akpeteshie] but gave the bar owner 20 cedis, according to Augustine Boah of Adom News.
Mr Anelka, later gave him the 2 cedis and collected the GH20 because the bar owner had no shift.
Mr Bediako’s effort to recover his money from his friend ended in a fight. This is because Mr Anelka insisted on giving him the amount of 18 cedis.
The two inebriated gentlemen decided to resolve the matter with a fight which resulted in an injury.
Mr Bediako, the bar owner, is said to have fled the scene after seeing blood oozing from his friend’s mouth.
However, Anelka was able to raise an alarm and was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital for treatment.
A complaint was filed with the Bibiani Police Department. Mr Bediako is being pursued by the police.
