Mahama’s monthly salary cause of rise in Ghana’s debt – Abronye

Ghana’s debt keeps increasing because the government of President Akufo-Addo, in the last four years, has spent a whooping amount of GHC 4.8 million just on former President John Dramani Mahama and his household, the Bono regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party has said.

Mr. Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye, disclosed on Wontumi TV that before leaving office, former President Mahama prepared a budget for himself which sees him earn GHC 100,000 every month without paying tax.

“Ghana spends Ghc 100k on Mahama every month and yet he doesn’t pay task. His aides take GHC 18,000 every month…so in a year, we spend GHC 1.2 million on him”, Abronye said.

He therefore cautioned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) complaining about Ghana’s debt to advise their defeated 2020 flagbearer to pay tax on the amount he receives as salary.

Abronye further stated that Mr. John Dramani Mahama saves with the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) of Ghana and is the first to report to the bank at the end of every month to cash out his salary.
