Machine grinds worker at Anwiankwanta

The owner of a Chinese Plastic Manufacturing Company at Anwiankwanta in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti region, has fled after one of his employees got grinded to death at the factory on Monday.

The youth of the town threatened to burn down the factory after the incident occurred, but for the timely intervention of the police, the situation would have been bloody.

22-year -old Francis Kwame Adu,  was dragged into the mechanical grinding machine when he attempted to remove a material that had stuck inside it with his bare hands.
His body dismembered at the time but was later removed from the machine.

Meanwhile, the mother of the deceased, Maame Ama Ameyaa told Atinka News that she was shocked when she heard about the incident.

”He is my last born and I love him, I do not know what to do,” she bemoaned.

Some of the employees of the company in an interview also said safety measures were not adhered to at the factory.

They also disclosed that they had no insurance packages despite the dangerous nature of their job.

However, the residents  have called on the Bekwai Municipal Assembly to close down the company
