Lockdown Rumor; Information Ministry Response

The Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said, the government is not thinking about a possible lockdown for the second time, even though the numbers are increasing.

The Information Minister said this in response to rumor of another lockdown. The minister said, the government is not considering lockdown now.

Rumor is in the air that, Akuffo Addo government is considering a second lockdown because of the increasing in the confirm Covid-19 cases. Many people are saying very soon there will be a lockdown again.

Informal workers who was deeply affected in the first lockdown, begin to worry. The first lockdown get many complaining about the hardship that they’re going through.

On the 29th March, 2020, the President announces partial lockdown in some part of the country, the affected areas was Greater Accra, Tema, Kasoa and Greater Kumasi starting on 31st March, 2020. Movement in the above mentioned areas was restricted in the bid to trace and test suspected person’s.

Lockdown was ease three weeks later. Informal workers was happy when the President ease the lockdown.

For now the government is not considering lockdown- Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
