Accra Hearts of Oak came from a goal down to beat Liberty Professionals 2-1 in a highly contested match day 5 game at the Carl Rendorf Park in Dansoman.

Liberty had taken a second minute lead through defender Michael Sefa before two goals in two minutes from Bernard Arthu and Kofi Kordzi handed the Phobians victory.

Michael Sefa put the host in the lead just two minutes into the game after rising high to head in a corner for Liberty Professionals.

Hearts of Oak were awoken from their early slumber, and tried to get an equalizer immediately but the scientific soccer lad were resolute.

The game went into the break with the Dansoman based side with their tails in front.

Hearts returned from the break very determined for an equalizer with coach Edward Nii Odoom replacing Kwadwo Obeng with Dan Afriyie.

The Phobians kept pressing and controlling the game but had to wait until former Liberty Professionals forward Bernard Arthur fetched the equalizer with four minutes left. Arthur had come on for Fred Ansah in the 75th minute.

Two minutes after Arthur’s leveler, Kofi Kordzi scored a sensational winner for the Phobian as they return to Accra with all three points in the bag.

The defeat was Liberty Professionals first loss of the season.
