Charles Komi Kudzordzi, the leader of the secessionist group Homeland Study Group Foundation, has died, according to reports.
Papavi, as the leader is called, died on Saturday, October 16 at the Keta Government Hospital, according to multiple reports collated by GhanaWish.com.
The octogenarian had been conducting an insurrection against Ghana, claiming the secession of the former Western Togoland, which includes the modern-day Oti and Volta Regions, as well as a portion of the North-East Region.
The 88-year-old has been on trial for treason, but he recently called the Attorney General’s bluff.
