John Mahama Rescues Poverty-Stricken Former Black Queens Goalkeeper ‘Memunatu Sulemana’

Former president John Mahama has stepped in to offer aid that will unquestionably result in a turnaround in Memunatu Sulemana’s fortunes, whose deplorable situation was made public following an interview she delivered to Original FM.

According to Daily Post report, John Mahama has taken the initiative to set up efforts to rescue the goalkeeper after learning of the terrible narrative of the legendary Ghanaian football player.

The National Democratic Congress candidate’s first deed of charity, according to the Daily Post, was to find Memunatu Sulemana a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment in the Accra suburb of Dansoman. On Monday, August 28, 2023, this was completed.

According to the story, John Mahama will provide Memunatu Sulemana a financial donation through friends and colleagues to help her get started and make sure she finds a new road to success.

Mahama’s intervention follows a scandalous report that detailed the ex-goalie’s appalling living arrangements in the Bubiashie neighborhood of Accra.

Sulemana’s career spanned different clubs, including Post Ladies in Ghana and Pelican Stars in the Nigeria Women’s Premier League.

While some of her contemporaries have transitioned to various professions after retiring from football, the 45-year-old Sulemana is grappling with severe poverty.

Despite earning some money from her football career, a significant portion was used to care for her grandmother, who battled diabetes and required medical attention.

Until her recent challenge, Memunatu Sulemana was the goalkeeper’s trainer for the Black Maidens of Ghana.
