Reports hovering around indicates that ex-president and the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Mahama was nowhere to be found at the 63rd Independence Anniversary of Ghana which was held in Kumasi, the capital town of the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

As expected, many statemen and dignitaries were to grace the ceremony with the president of the land, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Special seats were reserved for all the former presidents of Ghana but it appears only John Agyekum Kufuor was present at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

John Mahama and JJ Rawlings were missing from the Independence Day celebration grounds.

This has caused a debate among Ghanaians with some section of social media users wondering why John Mahama and JJ Rawlings were not present.
