JHS 3 students returning to school for their BECE will no longer enjoy ‘Break-time’

Final year students of Junior High Schools (JHS) in the country will be returning to school on 29th June 2020 ahead of the commencement of their Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) but will not be allowed to go on breaks.

This was disclosed by President for the Heads of Conference of Basic Schools, Mrs Mercy Akayila Anuembi in an interview on Adom FM.

Indeed, final year university students are to report to their universities on 15th June; final year senior high school (SHS 3) students, together with SHS 2 Gold Track students, on 22nd June; and final year junior high school (JHS 3) students on 29th June.

The Junior High School students will no longer on breaks because of the shorter time they will spend in school so their parents should ensure they are fed before they leave for school. she said.

Mrs Anuembi added that students will be closing earlier than it used to be. According to her, the lessons for the day will span from 8 am to 1 pm.

President Akufo-Addo in his 10th televised address to the nation on measures taken to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, announced the reopening of schools to enable final year students to sit for their final examinations.
