Jean Mensa’s attempt to make IPAC irrelevant in Ghana’s democracy is dangerous – Parliamentarian Hopeful

Mr. Isaac Kwasi Apatsea, a Parliamentarian Hopeful for Upper Denkyira East, has described the attempt by EC, Jean Mensa to ignore IPAC in Ghana’s electoral activities as a dangerous sign for our democracy.

He said Ghana’s highly respected democracy was achieved in concert with IPAC, hence one cannot downplay the relevance of IPAC.

Mr. Apatsea Isaac Kwasi said it is very said to hear Miss Jean Mensa claiming IPAC decisions are not relevant in her administration and also she says is the only decision that must work as far as the electoral commission’s actions are concern. Her plans to take the IPAC out of her upcoming limited registration exercise centralising the event at the offices of the electoral commissions other than Polling stations or electoral areas.

He again appealed to Civil Society organization, Student unions etc to as a matter of urgency sit Miss Jean Mensa down and point out some of the inefficiencies in her administration so that Ghana’s democracy will continue to receive the praise and recognition internationally.

He further said this action by the CSO’s will avoid future doubts in the minds of political party who lose elections and accept their defeat in good faith.
