Award-winning sports journalist, Saddick Adams has lashed out at leaders and politicians over what he sees to be their failure in effectively managing the high level of poor roads in Ghana.
His outburst comes after traveling to some part of the country which he believe Ghana as a nation shouldn’t be finding it difficult to fix bad road in the country after 64 years of Independence.
According to Him, Our roads are very bad and dark in the night. No street lights on almost all the major highways and no wonder 80% of accidents that have claimed precious lives happen in the night. Visibility is almost non existent.
Taking to his social media handle, He wrote;………
I respect every driver who plies any of our major roads in this country especially commercial drivers who have to transport passengers in the night.
Our roads are very very dark in the night. No street lights on almost all our major highways and no wonder 80% of the accidents that have claimed precious lives happen in the night. Visibility is almost non existent.
You’re on some 100kmph with no slight view of what’s ahead in 100meters. And this on a single carriage road serving trucks from all across West Africa.
I’m not sure a lot of us do observe when travelling but there is no difference the jungle and driving on our highways in the night.
