I’ll quit doing politics if Mahama gets 48% – Deputy Minister Of Agriculture

Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Kennedy Osei Nyarko is already writing off John Dramani Mahama and the opposition National Democratic Congress in the 2020 polls threatening to resign from politics if the party is able to garner 48% of the total votes.

The Minister who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akim Swedru Constituency in the Eastern Region wrote in a post on his Facebook timeline sighted on 10th August 2019.

If the NDC goes beyond 48% in the next general elections I will quit doing politics indefinitely and concentrate on my private business. Whoever thinks I am just bluffing can mark down today’s date”
Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections, beat then President John Mahama by polling 5,716,026 million votes, representing 53.85%, while John Mahama polled 4,713,277 million votes representing 44.40%, the worse so far for an incumbent President.

Various reasons were ascribed as the cause of the defeat of the then ruling government blaming lies and deceit claiming the opposition party during 2016 campaign season promised Ghanaians 1 district 1 factory, Free SHS, 1 village 1 dam, 1 district 1 warehouse and host of others.

Mr. Mahama is however optimistic he will beat his closest contender, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if the elections of 2020 are fairly conducted by the Electoral Commission.

“I am sure that and I can say confidently that if the elections are free and fair in 2020 in this country, NDC will win the election”, he disclosed at a retreat for some leaders .
He called for a level playing field by the Electoral Commission (EC) by conducting the 2020 polls in a free, fair and transparent manner to give equal opportunities for the contesting political parties to be able to win.

and has confirmed that he hasn’t regret saying that.

I have seen a lot of publications attributed to me on a Facebook post I made yesterday which i still standby it. But if any news caster or publisher wants to quote me they must do so based on my exact words.

Since when did quitting politics became a resignation from my position as a sitting MP?

Credibility is very key so if you have a brand try and protect it and not to dilute it. Publishers or Journalists must protect their brands and not to dilute it.
