Gh One Television’s General Manager, Nana Aba Anamoah, says she will start eating bread with okro stew because margarine is just too expensive these days.
Anamoah shared on Twitter her frustration after the small-sized margarine hit Ghc 9.
This is a product that was selling around Ghc 3 at the start of the year, but the never-ending cedi depreciation and rising inflation have led to absurd increases in prices of every product in Ghana, including the tiny margarine.
Anamoah says after discovering the price of the margarine, she’s now looking into alternatives when it comes to condiments for her breakfast.
She wrote on Twitter: “Margarine small size. 9 cedis 🤣🤣 I’ll add okro stew to the bread,”

Fans poured in with their recommendations of other condiments to use.
“Ghana Beyond aid…..abeg try roasted groundnuts….its expensive too anyways but hv less unsaturated fat,” a follower said.

Currently, inflation is the name of the game in Ghana and there’s no end in sight.
Don’t be surprised if that same margarine hits Ghc 11 in a week’s time.
