In 2020, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo decided to provide Ghanaians with free electricity and water during the initial stages of the Coronavirus pandemic. A few days ago, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information made an announcement that Ghanaiands will be taxed for the water they were given free of charge. This made Ghanaians furious and disappointed in the current government, including Bridget Otoo who says she prefers “Bura” to free water now.
The media personality has made it quite obvious that she is rallying strongly behind the the NDC and is displeased with the NPP. This was deduced from the snarky remarks she has made against the President of Ghana and his NPP government.
Therefore, this shocking news about payment of new taxes to cover the water bills that were initially written off has given Bridget an opportunity to attack once more.
Ayigbe Edem, a renown Ghanaian rapper made a mockery of the situation by tweeting, “Free Water”. Bridget Otoo however replied saying, “No thank you. I prefer ‘bura’”
So to say, she would prefer using water from a well than use free water and be taxed for it later.
