The Convener of the #FixTheCountry Movement, Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor, has restated his ambition to stage a coup in Ghana.
The Attorney General (AG), Godfred Yeboah Dame, was not pleased with the social media activist, who claimed that 266 MPs were involved in the proceedings leading up to the passage of the Electronic Transactions Levy (E-levy).
In a post on his Facebook page on April 30, 2022, Barker-Vormawor condemned the Army as “useless.”
“This Attorney-General is unconcerned about God. He claims that the Chieftaincy Minister, who is unwell and bedridden, walked into the Chamber and voted for the E-levy despite the fact that “we all saw the guy was stuck in his ambulance,” he claimed.
“If the Supreme Court genuinely throws away the last of its dignity; to join the puppet master in that deception; all for the sole purpose of punishing Ghanaians with E-Levy at all costs; so that the Article 71 holders can live rich at the expense of the People,” he continued.
“At that point, dier, we’ve passed the Rubicon of No Return, and I’ll carry out the coup on my own.”
For a similar comment he made using the same means, Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor was recently detained and charged with “Treason Felony.”
“If this E-Levy passes after this cake nonsense, I’ll stage my own coup.” Army is a waste of time!” The date was February 11, 2022, according to a Facebook post.
On March 16, 2022, the Tema High Court granted him GHC2 million bail with two sureties, one of whom must deposit paperwork covering a landed property within the court’s jurisdiction.
