Ghanaian Renowned Female Gospel musician, Gifty Adorye, who mostly preferred to be called Empress Gifty in the the Music Industry has blown the sound of her trumpet louder by insisting she will be the first Gospel artist from Ghana to win a BET Award.
Ghanaian artists, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy are the only artists who have won the prestigious awards for Ghana whiles Mzvee, Kwesi Arthur and D-Black have also been nominated in the past before.
“I will do my best to be on the red carpet of BET and take part. This is not about standing on the Red carpet alone but also be announced as the winner,” she told Accra FM.
The Aseda hitmaker also used the moment to talk about how they have to ‘fix DJs with money’ (called payola) before their works are given recognition on radio.
“Our main challenge as musicians in Ghana is the payment of payola after a release before one can have his or her songs played on-air,” she said.
