I Will do anything to win in 2020 – Mahama Vows

Former President John Mahama will be relentless in his efforts to win the 2020 elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This is the assurance he is giving supporters of the party as he prepares to hold rallies across the country.

In a message shared via his Facebook page , John Mahama said he is ready to work with the party’s supporters to ensure that the party wins the 2020 polls.

He stressed that a National Democratic Congress (NDC) government under his leadership would address the problems of unemployment and the high cost of living in the country.

When you vote for John Mahama, I will fight hard and work day and night with you to ensure our victory and address the problems of unemployment and the high cost of living in the country,” he said.

He stressed that he will be the best person to deliver a better economy and create more jobs for the country’s youth.

“Together we will present to our countrymen and women a renewed and reinvigorated NDC government, a party ready and able to lead Ghana beyond the unprecedented economic hardships of the present day, beyond the rising unemployment and despair of our youth, beyond the closure and collapse of financial institutions and businesses, beyond the dishonesty and nonchalance of the current administration, and beyond the family and clan syndrome that has rightly shocked and outraged so many,” John Mahama said.

John Mahama’s bid to lead the NDC is currently in limbo as he has been dragged to court over his attempt to seek re-election as president.

In a lawsuit sighted by joynewsroom, one Stephen Agyeman argues that Mahama’s re-election move violates the 1992 Constitution and he is thus asking the court to stop the former president from contesting in the 2020 presidential primaries.

Mr. Agyeman is seeking a declaration to the effect that John Mahama “cannot purport to seek re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana” pursuant to Articles 68 clauses 2 to 9 of the Constitution.

John Mahama competed with the former UPSA Vice Chancellor, Joshua Alabi; Alban Bagbin, former NHIA boss Sylvester Mensah; Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Goosie Tanoh and Nurudeen Idrissu to become the party’s flagbearer.
