I saved Kumasi music from dying – Flowking Stone

Reminiscing the apogee era of Lord Kenya, Akyeame and Okomfour Kwadee, Kumasi was the beacon of hope in reference to Ghana Music Industry. But along the line, Kumasi artistes lost the spotlight and Tema Boys took over spearheaded by Sarkodie.

The Genesis of Kumasi losing out dates back to the split of Akyeame music group, the chronic illness of Okomfour Kwadee and Lord Kenya dumping the microphone for the pulpit for obvious reasons.

Back to the subject mater, Flowkimg Stone in an interview with Max Tv has stated categorically that he dumped his biochemistry career to save Kumasi music from dying considering the fact that Lord Kenya, Akyeame and Okomfour Kwadee who were representing Kumasi lost the spotlight down the line.

“After the reign of Lord Kenya, Kwadae, Akyeame and others I realized Kumasi was empty as nobody was representing us that is why I had to drop my biochemistry certificate and came back to music, the passion for music overweighs my real profession”, Flowking Stone said on Max TV yesterday, January 2, 2020.

Flowking Stone added that his willingness to save Kumasi music from dying has been the reason why he has refused to leave Kumasi for Accra. Remember that most people are of the view that staying in Kumasi as a musician is very difficult to make it big in Ghana Music Industry.
