I Planned My Fake Pregnancy With My Mother – Takoradi Woman Says

Josephine Panyin Mensah Simons, the Takoradi lady at the center of the contentious pregnancy and kidnapping case, has confessed to a team of medical and investigation authorities at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital that she concocted the conspiracy with her mother.

Apart from admitting that she was not pregnant, the victim also claimed that she staged the pregnancy and her kidnapping because she wanted her husband to treat her well.

Josephine Panyin Mensah is known to have told the investigative team that she became pregnant for four months but then miscarried.

In a casual conversation with the investigators, she stated that informing her husband (Michael) of the pregnancy loss was difficult. It was at this point that she allegedly purchased a silicone belly to show that the pregnancy had not been lost.

The mother, on the other hand, was fully aware of the strategy at all times. She told the team that she had been giving her husband, her friends, and her neighbors the false idea that she was pregnant the entire time.

Josephine went on to say that she was terrified of losing her marriage because her husband gave her special treatment and attention during her actual pregnancy, which lasted four months.

When the investigative team questioned if she ever had sex while wearing the silicone belly, she answered she did since she covered her fake pregnancy with a cloth during that time.

She manufactured the kidnapping after nine months of her fake pregnancy, when pressure mounted on her about when she would deliver.

She is allegedly reported to have gone into hiding at Agona Nkwanta but did not know her fake kidnapping could receive such attention from the country

The Takoradi divisional Police command has arrested and detained her for the conduct.
She was released from the Effia-Nkwanta hospital on Friday afternoon after admitting to lying about her captivity and pregnancy to a team of medical and investigation personnel.

She and her husband are currently being questioned by police.
