Ghanaian Fast rising hip hop artiste, Born Edward Kofi Agyemang Amoah, but known widely in showbiz circles as Kofi Mole, says he never anticipated that his track ”Don’t Be Late’ would become a hit.
Speaking with Dr Poundz on Hitz Gallery on Hitz FM as part of promotional rounds for his new single titled Yabre featuring Fameye, Kofi Mole said he was surprised at the way the song made an impact.
Offering some thoughts on why the song gained so much appeal, Kofi Mole said it may have been because Don’t Be Late was from personal experience.
“This song made me more popular in the industry. It wasn’t my expectation that this song would become a hit but after I finished recording it, I realised that I had recorded a good song.
“But I think people like it more because it was a personal life experience which is very relatable. It was just like a calling that came upon me when my girlfriend was giving me space because things weren’t going well with me financially,” he said.
In spite of all the challenges he had with his girlfriend, Kofi Mole disclosed that he was still with her.
He, however revealed that she got jealous when there were reports about him dating singer Cocotreyy. He explained that Cocotreyy was his best friend and he knew how to handle them both without any misunderstanding.
“I am still with my girlfriend and Coco is my bestie. But as people say Coco is my girl sometimes my girlfriend shows some small jealousy but I know how to handle both of them,” he said.
Kofi Mole, who even as underground artiste was tipped as one to watch, showed what he was capable of on Biibi Ba by Sarkodie and he sustained that momentum with Don’t Be Late.
