Yaw Sarpong, a gospel music legend, has admitted that his 41 years of singing have not paid him as he had hoped.
Despite his dearth of resources, he thanks God for the little he has made, as well as the gift of life and health.
He admitted this on Kumasi’s Angel Fm, stating he started music as a pastime rather than a business.
“When we first started, the music wasn’t the same. We have not reaped the same benefits as the musicians. My debut album was published in 1981, at a time when music was still in its infancy. Despite the fact that it has not paid off, music has given us everything we have today. Many people call me that, especially in Arab countries. I am not referring to people from Japan, the United States, or other countries. He admitted, “The future is larger, and I trust God to make it better.”
Despite the fact that no producer has paid him for any of his 27 albums, the singer remains positive about the future.
