Ghanaian actress, Fella Precious Makafui, may now look so glamorous and beautiful but that is not exactly how her story began as her journey to the top was rough and narrow.
She rose to fame in the teen reproductive health series YOLO which she played the role as a local bread seller with a poor command over the English language.
Fast forward, Fella Makafui is married to popular Ghanaian rapper Medikal, with some businesses she owns to keep her running aside her acting career.
Fella in a documentary has narrated how her rise to the top has not been easy after she one day decided to leave her small village in the Volta Region and move to Accra to make a living.
According to her, she believed coming to Accra will help her achieve her dreams of becoming a refined and famous actress.
Therefore, she decided to inform her mother about her plans of moving to Accra which she did not object to.
“I decided to come to Accra to make a living because I knew there was nothing for me in my small viilage in the Volta Region,” she said.
We started seeing Fella Makafui on the screens after the premiere of the YOLO tv series but before that, she had to wander from one producer to the other with no hope of making it although she had the gift of acting and hitherto has been playing perfect acting roles in her secondary school, Kpando Senior High School.
According to her, a friend introduced her to the producer of the YOLO tv-series and that was when she realized the turn of events in her life.
Therefore, being introduced to the YOLO producer was something she desired. Fortunately, she got the chance to feature in the series, and to her surprise, that was a breakthrough since her arrival in Accra.
