Gospel crooner Phillipa Baafi has revealed that she was forced into labour the night Ghana faced Uruguay in the 2010 FIFA World cup in South Africa.
According to Phillipa Baafi, she was 8 months pregnant and living alone in the USA when she was watching the fierce quarter-final clash between Ghana and Uruguay.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM’s Sports Salad hosted by Saddick Adams, the ‘Go Higher’ hitmaker revealed that when Ghana was awarded the penalty after extra time her tension was so high that she started kicking items in her room but when Asamoah Gyan missed the penalty she was forced into labour and admitted at a hospital in the USA.
Phillipa Baafi further revealed that she was admitted at the hospital for one month until she gave birth to her daughter who is 11 years now.
The senior national team, Black Stars and Ghanaians as a whole will never forget the heartbreak of the 2010 FIFA world cup quarter finals after Asamoah Gyan missed a last-minute penalty.
