Investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has bemoaned the unemployment crisis in the country.
In a series of Facebook posts reacting the Finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta’s claim that government’s payroll is full and cannot employ further graduates, he wondered how the youth are expected to be entrepreneurs when only a few family and friends control all the contracts in all the sectors.
He wrote, “They say go into business. But only a few family and friends control all the contracts in all the sectors. No meritocracy.”
The government has come under intense criticism following the finance minister’s statement.
Most Ghanaian entrepreneurs have come out to express how frustrating it is starting a business in the country.
Meanwhile Ken Ofori-Atta has said the 2022 budget will put in place measures to aid the youth become their own bosses.
