Ashanti regional chairman for All People’s Congress (APC) Dr. Ahmed Kasim Sissago has hurled a verbal missile against Senior Minister Hon Yaw Osarfo Maafo following the latter’s call for the deportation of Aisha Huang who is otherwise known as “galamsey Queen”.
The outspoken chairman in a recent interview with Ghanawish.com lashed the senior minister by describing him as a black sheep to wit a big disgrace to Ghana and the whole of Africa and that ” he doesn’t deserve the honor conferred on him as the senior minister”.
Hon Yaw Osafro Maafo recently made a controversial comment suggesting for the deportation of Chinese national Aisha Huang instead of her incarceration over illegalities committed by her through mining activities. The minister while addressing a town hall in the US, said jailing the Chinese national, who was standing trial for illegal mining, would not have made either Ghanaians or the government happy because it would not have solved Ghana’s economic problems.
The Ashanti regional chairman for APC after making deductions from the minister’s comment said he suspect that Hon Osarfo Maafo was among the political figures who influenced the illegal operations of Aisha Huang in the mining sector.
Mr. Ahmed Sissago continued that “I am sure the senior minister per his suggestion is a strong industrial pillar leaned on by most Chinese nationals who caused havoc to the country through galamsey operations”. The APC chairman who is a passionate political disciple of Dr. Hassan Ayariga- founder and leader for APC said “I’m completely surprised over why a whole senior minister will stand in defense of a Galamsey queen who through her illegal activities caused great damage to our land and water bodies. So is Osarfo Maafo telling us that Aisha Huang is better than Ghanaians who have been arrested and prosecuted over similar crimes. I don’t think Osafo Marfo is truly a patriotic citizen”, he said.
For Mr. Ahmed Sissgo, Aisha Huang should be prosecute, sentenced and made to reclaim all lands she destroyed through her mining operations.
