The purpose of the visit was to establish a positive working relationship between the NLA and the cities’ assemblies.

Mr. Awuku praised the Regional Minister for his ideas and efforts to clean up Accra.

“We are delighted to have you here today. We engage with a variety of stakeholders in our industry, and we hope to have a positive working relationship with you as you fight to keep Accra clean. As our people operate within the purview of the law, the NLA may support the Assemblies with our widows’ might.”

He also emphasized the issues that the NLA and unlawful operators face in the region, and urged the MMCEs to assist them in rooting out the illegal operators.

“We have a few difficulties in the areas of Tudu, Ayawaso, and other portions of Greater Accra, and I will ask our MMDCEs to assist us in rooting out any unlawful operators in the Region,” he stated.

“NLA and our good course foundation, we promote culture,” Mr Awuku said, “and a lot of invitations come on us to support some festival, and we don’t know which of the festivals are big or strong, so management has determined that some of this challenge will be channeled to the RCC properly.” We wish to support the new Namei, but it needs to be properly handled.”

He urged the Minister to engage in a discussion on the demolition of lotto operators’ premises to explore how the issue could be resolved peacefully.

On his part, Hon. Henry Quartey reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to reviving the Greater Accra Region, renewing his vow to President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

“We have indeed received significant support from various stakeholders, and by the grace of God, the operation clean your frontage law has been passed and has crossed all 29 MMDCEs and municipalities.”

“Right now, we have roughly 1200 people receiving training to be deployed into the assembly to assist with the implementation of the new bylaws,” he added.

Hon. Quartey also advised the NLA boss to consider rebranding their lotto kiosk in order to avoid having their operators affected by the demolition.
