The flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana(LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo, has called on Ghanaians to show him sympathy come the December 7 polls.
According to Kofi Akpaloo, he has struggled a lot so this is his time to occupy the Presidential seat.
The LPG flagbearer who was speaking in an interview on the Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio and TV indicated that, President Akufo-Addo has achieved a lot in his three and a half year administration but since he is occupying a position that is contestable, naturally he should be contested.
“I have already won the 2020 election. The race is between me and Nana Akufo-Addo. John Mahama would be placed 6th. Even GUM flagbearer, Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews will overtake him.” Kofi Akpaloo boasted
He recalled that, Ghanaians went through an unbearable economic hardship under former President John Mahama and for that matter there can never be another opportunity for him to come and manage the economy.
“Ghanaians haven’t forgotten the mess John Mahama created when he was in office. The Dumsor which collapsed people’s businesses is still fresh in their memory as well as the series of corruption cases leveled against him.” He said
Kofi Akpaloo indicated that, President Akufo-Addo’s achievements and vision have made it difficult for the NDC to put better their manifesto.
He said that, what will influence the decision of most voters to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo on December 7 will be the establishment of the Zongo Development Fund, the establishment of Astro Turfs and the Free SHS policy.
According to him, the running mate of John Mahama, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has nothing to bring to the table which can boost John Mahama’s chances
Kofi Akpaloo wondered why as a Minister of Education in a government which was defeated in an election because she couldn’t even provide chalk for schools, Jane Naana can now come back to ask for votes from the people she disappointed.
“Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang was a cabinet Minister when some schools collapsed and kIlled some students in the Central Region.” He said
Kofi Akpaloo affirmed that, all what Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang can bring to the table is her English speaking skill adding that Ghanaians are hungry, the English speaking will not provide food them.
