Ghanaians should demonstrate and gov’t will also put 100,000 on street  to show his good works – NPP communicator

Hundreds of Ghanaians have been clamouring for an impeding demonstration in support of the “fix the country campaign” . However, the Ghana Police Service on Thursday secured an exparte injunction to stop the organizers from embarking upon the the fix the country demonstration in line with the covid-19 restrictions imposed by government.

This decision by the police may come as a form of relief to the government whose good will could be negatively affected should the demonstration take place.

Be that as it may, a senior communicator of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr Nana Akomea believes that but for covid-19, people going on the street to show discontent should not be a problem. Speaking in a pannel discussion on Metro TV, Mr Akomea maintained that expression of discontent has always been part of the country.

“Ghana is a poor country and in every poor country, there will always be discontent. I don’t have a problem with people showing discontent. It was a discontent that led to June 4th; the same discontent led to “Occupy Flagstaff House” and “Kumipreko” demonstrations.

Mr Akomea who believes that the government is doing well despite challenges added, “Iet them go the street and demonstrate. I am looking forward to a hundred thousand (100,000) people going on the street to demonstrate and in two weeks, the government will also put another 100,000 people, who believe government is doing well on the street to demonstrate”.
