Minister for Information and MP for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has come under scrutinyamd bash by fellow Ghanaians after images making rounds on social media indicates he was led into his constituency by a convoy of motor riders.
Former President John Mahama this month of August, has said that he will legalise the Okada business (commercial motorbike transport services) should he win the December 07th 2020 elections.
He made this statements during an interaction with the chiefs, people and party supporters at Kpando in the Volta Region.
The flagbearer of the NDC was quoted to have said: “I’ve been seeing young people who have finished school and they can’t find a job and, so, they are look for something they can do and many of our young people are riding motorcycles and transporting people from place to place, and we call them Okada”.
But NPP members and communicators have said that it is a bad decision to come from the NDC flagbearer considering the number of Motorbike accidents recorded at Ghana’s Korle-Bu.
Others in the NPP have also said that it is an insult from some NDC MPs to even say Okada business is profitable than doing Government’s NABCO.
But In a social media post on Monday evening, the MP wrote:
“In Ofoase/Ayiribi, we launched our Constituency campaign with the inauguration of our constituency campaign team.”
“We have in the last three and half years made good strides and we believe that through Leadership of Service, we can Protect our Progress and Transform Ghana for All when given the mandate in December.”
But is like the number of motorbikes leading the Information minister into his constituency isn’t a joke.
As usual fellow Ghanaians have reacted.
Earlier this week, the likes of franklin cudjoe and kofo bentil have all agdeed to the fact that it is a good call from Mahama to legalize okada when voted into power.
