Ghanaians Don’t Respect Politicians – Kwabena Agyepong

Kwabena Agyepong

Ghanaians no longer respect politicians because of their own behavior, according to former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.

Although there are some sincere politicians among them, he claims that the actions of a few politicians have led to the stereotyping of all politicians.

He claims that the majority of Ghanaians view politics as a way to get quick money and no longer respect politicians because they believe they are using their positions of power to benefit themselves.

The majority of Ghanaians believe that politics is a way to make money, he said on Kumasi-based Hello FM. “If you look at the results of surveys conducted, the respect that Ghanaians have reduced,” he said.

The former presidential spokesperson stated that it is on to politicians to alter the narrative by acting in a way that will win back the trust of the Ghanaian people.

“This is the case due to the behavior displayed by some politicians in the nation. These are the poor models we shouldn’t imitate. Politicians should play a part in changing the narrative, he argued.

The NPP flagbearer candidate emphasized that he was determined to improve the current situation: “My passion is about the transformation of the Ghanaian people, not only for politicians. Politicians must set a good example since we elect them to manage our resources and run the country. I’ve come here to introduce myself since I think.
