Ghanaian Union Of Prostitutes Increase Charges With Special Package Such As Blow Job

Commercial Sex Workers in Koforidua the Eastern Regional Capital and other part of Ghana have reviewed upwards charges for their clients due to the high cost of living.

They cited transport fare increment, a general increase in prices of goods and services in the country as the basis for the marginal increment.

Now Sex workers operating in  Kuamsi, Accra and  Koforidua Bula Spot, Absa bank area, Legion Hall, total 2, Agatha Market, Freedom Store Area, OSA Station, Adum, Asafo, Tema, Ashiaman Osu Circle and China House areas charge at least Ghc20 and Ghc50 for BlowJob and a round of sex respectively.

The review of the prices by the commercial sex workers comes few days after joining the rest of the world to mark International Sex Workers’ day on June 2, 2021.

Every year, the world celebrates International Sex Workers’ Day to honor sex work and acknowledges the struggles faced by sex workers. The event was first celebrated in 1976.

Even though some countries have legalized the activities of commercial sex workers, the act is prohibited by law in Ghana.

However, despite the prohibition, commercial sex work is prevalent and continues to boom in many parts of the country due to multiple factors underpin by poverty.

The coronavirus pandemic affected the business as clients were afraid to have contact with them.

But the debilitating economic effect of covid -19 is said to be pushing many young girls into the act in the country.
