Ghanaian Pastor Stocks Church With Free Food, Drinks And Cloths For The Public To Enter And Pick

A UK-based Ghanaian Pastor-Bishop, Dr.William Wood, who is the founder of Power Center Church in the UK has been hailed for temporarily converting his Church in the United Kingdom into a cloth and a food bank for those in need.

Bishop Dr. Wood and his Ghanaian wife Bishop Mrs. Mercy Wood as well as the leadership of the Church on Thursday, April 8, 2021, opened the Church auditorium stocked with varieties of foods, drinks, and cloth to the public to freely pick food and clothes to satisfy their immediate needs.

This gesture, is not the first and last to be conducted by Power Center Church.

It sinks with the scripture as said in Matthew 25:35-45; “I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you”.

The coronavirus pandemic has shrunk the world’s economy leading to job loses and deepening hardship and poverty .

The intervention by Power Center Church-UK has therefore been commended as a way of mitigating the impact of the pandemic among families.
