Although it seems his post was made before the Ghana, Portugal game, the euphoria and optimism surrounding the Black Stars which manifested in their remarkable performance against the Portuguese have reinforced the belief.
John Dumelo, who is also a farmer and a politician, made the statement via his official Facebook page which has over 5.9 million followers.
Meanwhile, the footballing world continues to debate the contentious penalty awarded to Portugal in their 3-2 victory over Ghana on Thursday.
On that score, Ghana’s most prolific player of all time Asamoah Gyan has weighed in on the trending issue.
In the keenly contested game between the two countries in the ongoing FIFA World Cup being held in Qatar, Mohammed Salisu was adjudged to have fouled Cristiano Ronaldo in the box, despite the fact that replays revealed the Ghanaian had touched the ball.
Portugal took the lead after Ronaldo converted a penalty, but Ghana fought back fiercely and eventually, the match ended 3-2.
Speaking on SuperSport after the game, Gyan said he believed the penalty was soft adding that he did not understand why the referee verified his decision with the aid of the VAR.
