A popular sports betting company in Ghana has shut down after two years of operation due to Ghana Premier League [GPL] match fixing.
According to the report, some sports activities and match fixing between teams like Legon cities, Inter Allies, Ashanti Gold and others brings down the company its market value after some customers place GHc100,000, GHc10,000, GHc3,000 GHc18,000 and more on correct scores and over goals to win uncounted amount of money.
The company that has been in operation since 2019 is therefore advising its patrons to withdraw all deposits from their accounts by July 27.
As of the time of this publication, there has not been any official communication from the management of BetPlanet.
In a quick glance on their website found out there were no events, however, they left a simple message bidding their customers goodbye.
“BET PLANET IS CLOSING. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR CUSTOM. Please withdraw any balance you have in your account as soon as possible. Deposits and betting services are no longer available.”
