Head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Otto Addo has named his final 26man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Stars are making their fourth appearance at the World stage in Qatar after beating Nigeria in the final play-off games.
Otto Addo announced a 55-man squad list for the tournament last month which has now been trimmed down to twenty-six (26) players.
The West African giants will be without the services of two experienced goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Jojo Wallocot as well as RDC Mallorca midfielder, Baba Iddrisu due to injury.
Spanish-born Inaki Williams and former England Youth international, Tariq Lamptey who switched their international allegiance to represent Ghana at the senior level earned a spot in the Black Stars final squad list for the World Cup.
In-form Belgium-based winger Joseph Paintsil and Crystal Palace midfielder Jeffery Schlupp miraculously missed out on the final spot which has left many Ghanaians in a state of dilemma.
Accra Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Asante Kotoko shot-stopper Danlad Ibrahim made the cut as the only local players to make the cut.
Ghana has been housed in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup alongside 2016 European champions Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea and will begin their 2022 World Cup campaign with Portugal on 24th November, 2022 before playing against Uruguay and South Korea.
Reacting to the squad in the studios of Angel FM, Kelvin, Head of Sports, is a firm believer that looking at the performance of Coach Otto Addo and the players at hand, Black Stars won’t win a single match at Qatar.
