Ghana Black Stars Will Continue To Fail Until… – Nicholas Omane Acheampong

Nicholas Omane Acheampong, a Ghanaian gospel artist, believes that the lack of indigenous players on the senior national team has led to the country’s poor performance on the international stage.

The ‘Mahashala’ singer believes that the team’s flaws are a result of God’s retribution.

He argued that Ghana’s poor performance and early elimination from the ongoing tournament is due to a hidden reality about Ghana football. “We can never hide the truth, and it has a funny way of showing itself no matter how hard you cover it up.” “I believe the national humiliation we’re facing on the football field is God’s punishment for the sport’s mistreatment,” he said.

Omane Acheampong questioned the country’s football officials, the Ghana Football Federation, on their dedication (GFA). He argues that the country’s football handlers are failing to keep track of every game played on the local scene.

“Is the FA well devoted to the entertaining games we play in our local leagues?” How closely do they watch football’s activity on the local scene? Until we can provide enough incentive for our local players to be proud of the clubs they play for, and to encourage them that despite playing in the local league and obtaining call-ups to the Black Stars, the team will never prosper,” he said.

He urged that Ghanaians should do more to restore the distinguished status of local leagues. “Local players deserve a lot of respect and appreciation for representing their clubs.”

He went on to say that because our local league players have a winning mentality, putting them in the Black Stars team is no longer an option. “Nearly 90% of our local players have lost interest in the team because they have realized that, whatever their efforts and performances, they would never be given the chance.” We would be embarrassed at every competition if it weren’t for them. We will never win the ultimate trophy, even if we reach the final by chance,” he says, “since we’ve abandoned our people at home.”
