GFA Set To Appoint Interim Coach For World Cup Playoffs

Before the 2022 World Cup play-offs, the Ghana Football Association is expected to name an interim coach to replace Milovan Rajevac.

Ghana’s Sports Ministry called a meeting of the Ghana Football Association on Friday, instructing the association to sack Serbian coach Zlatko Dalic immediately after the country’s withdrawal from the present Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars finished last in Group C, behind Morocco, Gabon, and the Comoros, with only one point.

The Ghana FA has agreed in principle to terminate the 68-year-contract, old’s and talks to replace him are already started.

The Ghana Football Association is anticipated to make an official announcement regarding the Serbian coach’s departure.

The Ghana FA will hire an interim coach to begin preparations for the critical qualifiers in March, with the World Cup play-offs coming up in March.

The Ghana FA will consider employing a top-tier coach who is familiar with the team, has recently worked with them, and, most importantly, commands the players’ respect.

When the draw takes place on Saturday in Cameroon, the Black Stars will learn who they will face in the World Cup play-offs.
