GES hints on the reopening of schools

Schools all over the country have been closed since March 16,2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This was done under the directive of President Akufo Addo.

The educational minister,Hon.Matthew Opoku- Prempeh has disclosed the actual date of reopening for educational institutions in the country.With  regards to basic schools, senior high schools and tertiary. He emphasized that students going back to school will largely depend on the expert advice of health officials handling Corona virus in consultation with the government. This will help keep students safe.

As such is the right time for students to resume in order for academic work

This information from the Ghana Education Service will help students to be free from all rumours concerning their reopening and not to put pressure on any one.

The closure of schools in the country was part of government’s initiative to combat Corona virus following strict social distancing with is a way of reducing the spread of the virus. As part of government’s measures,the President,earlier today extended the closure of borders for a one month.
