Gate Fees of Ghana League Should Be Reduced To GH¢5 – Kwabena Agyapong

Kwabena Agyapong, a former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party, has advised the football community to reduce the gate prices for Ghana Premier League games.

In order to allow more fans to attend the games, the former sports journalist believes that the gate prices should at least be lowered to 5GHC.

Kwabena Agyepong contends that because Ghanaian football supporters are not particularly wealthy, lower gate prices are necessary to boost stadium attendance.

Speaking on Oyerepa TV, Kwabena Agyapong emphasized that charging 5GHC and attracting more spectators to the stadiums will be better for the clubs and the game as a whole than charging 20GHC and drawing less people.

“On the Ghana premier league, I think the gate fees should be slashed to as low as 5ghc, the popular stand which is 20ghc should be made 5ghc.

With this, there will be more fans at the stadium. It will be better to have the stadium full to capacity with a gate fee of GHC5 than GHC20 with fewer fans like only a thousand people there” He said.
